Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth drastically. This is a two-step process. The first step is to have your teeth evaluated by the dentist to make sure you are a good candidate for whitening. We then take impressions of your teeth so we can fabricate trays of your teeth. This step will take 3-4 days. When the trays are ready we then have you back to try in your trays and instruct you on how to bleach at home. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restoration will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Tooth whitening is not permanent, and results vary patient to patient. A touch-up may be needed to keep your teeth looking their whitest.
